Project: Geometry In Art Government
Grant Project
Realm Creative assisted in securing
a government grant for a project designed to teach
students about geometry found in art. We formulated
and submitted a letter explaining why we felt the
school deserved the grant. Our submission, along with
those of other donors helped the school successfully
obtain the grant.
The study primarily focused on Native
American, African, and Mexican art works. Students
individually designed a variety of art pieces that
reflected what they learned over the course of the
semester. As a collective project, classes measured
the exterior walls of the school library for a mural.
They then designed individual ceramic tiles and, once
painted and fired, created an exterior public art
mural of the works.
Upon completion Realm acted as the official
judge of individual student art works and selected
the top three from each grade. Winners received awards
and prizes including a grand prize of round-trip airline
tickets donated by Southwest Airlines.
Students were asked to photograph progress
and helped formulate a script for Realm Creative.
As a final component of the project, our firm designed
a Flash movie presentation that was played at a school
assembly showing the progress and results of the project.
The movie was submitted to the Arizona Department
of Education.
