Mitochondrial Eve is the name given by researchers to the woman who is defined as the matrilineal most recent common ancestor for all currently living humans. Passed down from mother to offspring, her mitochondrial DNA is now found in all living humans. ;-)

The Tagline 'BREAKTHROUGH' represents a dual meaning. First, that the facility is a breakthrough in innovation and design, and second, that firms who would move to lease space within the facility might have a better chance at breakthrough research by being a part of the energy of the facility.

The corporate logo was modeled after a DNA double helix pattern.

The brochure utilizes both metalic silver and copper ink colors. The copper draws into the design the nostalgia of the downtown Phoenix Copper Square District while the silver was added in contrast to reflect the cutting-edge technological initiative of Downtown and this facility's biotechnical purpose.

The internal pocket was diecut with space for three Plaza Companies vertical business cards, but due to the fact that the firm brand was undergoing a redesign (by Realm) we opted to offer horizontal diecut marks for future card designs as well. This would save cost on reprinting the brochure in the event a horizontal design was selected for the cards.
