The challenge was that the client was not quite sure what it was they wanted built when we were asked to execute a project. We worked with TriScottsdale to organize their concepts into a functional design and brainstormed to formulate the most effective portal features that would be of the most benefit to their website visitors.
The first Ironman competition gathered as many as 50 athletes and was held in 1979. The race, however, was postponed a day because of bad weather conditions and only fifteen competitors started off the race Sunday morning. San Diego's Tom Warren won in 11 hours, 15 minutes, and 56 seconds. Lyn Lemaire, a championship cyclist from Boston, placed sixth overall and became the first "Ironwoman". Today, to qualify for Ironman Kona, the athlete must be able to complete an full triathlon in less than 10 hours. ;-)
